Advent Calendar Making 2012

Advent Calendar is a special calendar used to count or celebrate the days in anticipation of Christmas. The members of German Club are split into 5 groups. Each group has to an advent calendar. They are given the materials to complete within a certain time. They will use their creativity to create an one and only advent calendar, After completing, they are asked to explain what their calendar is about. Prizes are given to the best three groups which are decided by the judge panel. It is totally fair! :) Members also drew lots (a number) for their exchange present later on. At the end, the members can exchange presents with one another in prior to Christmas. I'm sure everyone enjoyed themselves to the fullest:)

Foreign Language Cultural Day (14 November 2012)

German Theater Workshop

Our performance was a skit. There were six scenes such as the German lesson, pub, hotel, criminals, kidnappers and Ausstellung. We had quite a number of rehearsals before the actual day of the performance. All of us were so busy but we made extra time to come for the rehearsals which made our performance and the event a successful one. A big thanks to all of the committees and members who were involved in this event. :) Below are some of the photos of the actual performance and the event.

Oktoberfest (24 October 2012)

NYP German Club Oktoberfest 2012

Oktoberfest is a traditional autumn beer festival held in Munich, Germany every October. The committees organized this event so that the members can experience what is Oktoberfest like. There are many games and the members enjoyed themselves. There are games such as who can keep the sausage in their mouth for the longest time without breaking, biting the sausage and using a paper ball to hit as many cans as you can into a basket, arm wrestling, etc. Refreshments were also provided for the members and the committees. At the end, there was also a prize giving ceremony. All of us had a great time. :) These can be seen from the pictures below:
